How Steven Became Famous.

When I was 23 I moved to Los Angeles to "Become a Star". I was a singer, songwriter and performer and decided I should go to LA to 'make it big'.

After 3 months in Hollywood I had pretty much given up hope of ever making it in music. At which point a girl I had met invited me to a party.

The people at the party were all artists of one sort or another. All of them were talking about the various projects they had under way, the plans and goals they had.

None of these people were famous, some had some degree of success, but the thing that caught my attention was— none of them had given up!

The level of confidence in themselves, their certainty that they would achieve their goals, and the enthusiasm with which they were going about reaching for their dreams astounded me.

They were totally different from any of the people I knew (mostly failed artists).

The one thing they all had in common was that they were Scientologists. And I got very interested. I read some books. Started taking courses. I learned how to better confront life, situations and people. I learned how to achieve my goals.

I regained confidence in my own talents and improved my ability to use them. I learned how to organize my life, and found one very fatal mistake that I had been making that really turned around my success as an artist.

I could go on. Bottom line is that I have been making my living as a full-time musician for the past 20 years. I have performed for hundreds of thousands of people, been on international media and worked with some of the top names in the entertainment industry.

I don't think it really hit me how far I'd come until a few years ago when I told someone my name and he said "I've heard of you—you're famous!"—at which point I looked back to when I was 23—and I can guarantee you that without what I have learned in Scientology about myself, others and life, I never would have achieved any of it.

And now? I'm still excited about my work; I have confidence in myself; I have ever-larger goals, and certainty that I will achieve them; and I enthusiastically continue to reach for my dreams.
